When I wrote "What Managers Don't Know", I had in mind a simple book about how we can improve our skills, policies and processes to become better managers. By the time I finished the book it became something much wider, looking at the question of leadership across business as a whole and not just in management. I therefore added the sub-title "How to be a better manager, leader and entrepreneur."
I am now planning a major revision, along with new distinctions and ideas, but I have a couple of questions:
1. Do I need a title that takes the book more into the idea of business leadership (and make the subtitle about management skills)?
2. Should I also therefore change the grouping name under which I place all my business related works? (i.e. change away from What Managers Don't Know to a title more about Leadership and Change?)
Comments please.
Following a mini-focus group discussion this afternoon, I think the new revised book will be changed to:
Quality Leadership Is Your Business: How to Create & Manage Change for a 21st Century Workplace
I will change the group now :)
